We recommend avoiding heavy workouts, excessive sweating, swimming, and activities that may rub or irritate the tattoo during the initial healing period. Your artist will let you know what is best based on your tattoo’s placement and size.
You can start using sunblock once your tattoo is fully healed, usually after about 2–4 weeks. Do not apply sunscreen to a fresh or peeling tattoo, as it can irritate the skin and affect healing. Until it is fully healed, keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight and follow your artist’s aftercare instructions. Once healed, using sunscreen regularly is one of the best ways to keep your tattoo looking clean and vibrant over time.
Your artist will give you specific instructions based on your tattoo, but in general, second skin bandages are usually worn for 3–5 days. If the bandage starts leaking, peeling off, causing irritation, or trapping too much fluid, you may need to remove it sooner. When removing it, do so slowly and gently under warm running water, then wash the tattoo with mild, unscented soap and pat it dry with a clean paper towel. After removing the second skin, continue following your artist’s aftercare instructions.
In the event you experience any loss of ink or scarring during the healing process, please consult with your artist about scheduling a touch up appointment.
It can vary between 3-6 weeks for your tattoo to be healed. We are unable to work on any skin that is still in the healing process, if you have any questions about your tattoo please don't hesitate to contact us!
No. You should avoid swimming, baths, hot tubs, pools, lakes, and oceans until your tattoo is fully healed. Soaking a fresh tattoo can affect healing and increase the risk of irritation or infection.
Most tattoos take about 2–4 weeks to heal on the surface. Healing time can vary depending on the size, placement, your skin, and how well you follow aftercare instructions.
Your artist will give you the best aftercare instructions based on your specific tattoo, placement, and skin type, so always follow their guidance first. In general, after your appointment, gently wash your tattoo with clean hands using mild, unscented soap and lukewarm water. Pat it dry with a clean paper towel and apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or recommended aftercare product 1–2 times a day, or as instructed by your artist.
During the healing process, avoid direct sunlight, swimming, soaking in baths or hot tubs, heavy sweating, picking, scratching, or wearing tight clothing that may rub against the tattoo. Keep the area clean, moisturized, and protected while it heals. Proper aftercare helps your tattoo heal smoothly and keeps it looking its best long-term.
